Ever see an adult Girl Scout volunteer wearing a pin you didn't understand? Wondering what kind of recognition is appropriate for a volunteer you know? Read below for more information about council recognitions. To open application forms, you will need the free software Acrobat Reader. If you don't already have it, get it from Adobe.

Membership Pins

Traditional Membership PinContemporary Membership Pin and Numeral Guard

All currently registered adult members of the Girl Scouts are entitled to wear the Traditional Girl Scout Membership Pin (eagle) or the Contemporary Girl Scout Membership Pin (three girls' profiles). For newly registered adult volunteers, the Traditional or Contemporary Girl Scout Membership Pin is the first recognition received from the council. The adult services department provides either of these pins to newly registered adult volunteers free of charge. Service Unit Request Form

Membership Numeral Guards and Years of Service Pins

Years of Service Pin

Numeral Guards are available at five-year intervals beginning with five years. The numeral guard recognizes total years of registered membership, both girl and adult years. Years of Service Pins are available at five-year intervals beginning with five years. They recognize adults for years of active volunteer service to Girl Scouting (not including girl years). Service Unit Request Form

Service Team Bar

Service Team Bar

An adult position bar indicates the present position of a volunteer in the Girl Scout organization. When worn between the World Pin and the Girl Scout Membership Pin, the red Service Team Bar indicates that the volunteer serves troops and groups in the service unit (beyond the traditional position of troop leader or assistant troop leader). The council understands the additional time most volunteers give to service units. Therefore we gratefully extend this recognition to service team volunteers. Examples of service team positions are: troop or group committee member; service unit manager; program adviser; service unit treasurer; service unit cookie manager; service unit annual giving coordinator; service unit registrar, district chair or district delegate, etc. Service Unit Request Form

Adult Pluralism Pin

The Adult Pluralism Pin is given to volunteers who show their commitment to understanding pluralism by taking three hours of pluralism training and completing one other activity. Download the Adult Pluralism Pin form to learn more and to apply for the pin.
